Ten thousand educators and interested individuals actively engaged in the development of literacy throughout the Commonwealth invite you to join The Virginia State Reading Association as we:
- expand and diversify opportunities for professional growth;
- increase knowledge through sharing of research and current best practices;
- promote educators as researchers and reflective practitioners;
- encourage development of evaluation instruments that reflect the best instructional practices and authentic literacy behaviors;
- increase communication among members, teachers, administrators, parents, and legislators;
- provide Virginia's local reading councils with leadership training, professional experiences, and incentives for local projects;
- support the implementation of the Virginia Standards of Learning.
